As the Union Home Ministry has today notified rules for the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), we revisit Swati Goel Sharma's ground report from 2019.

At that time, persecuted Pakistani Hindus in Delhi expressed their happiness over the Indian Parliament's approval of the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).

“Amit Shah zindabad. Narendra Modi zindabad,” said Kesro, who has been living with his family in a south Delhi slum since they fled Pakistan in 2015.

The day the Indian Parliament gave the green light to CAB was like Holi and Diwali for the persecuted Pakistani Hindus in Delhi, writes Swati.
